Concept:

                Management is a process of planning, organizing, motivating and controlling the enterprise resource for the purpose of achieving the goal of the organization effectively and efficiently

                    The key features of management are:

            i) Management is a goal oriented process
            ii) Management is pervasive (common to all) 
            iii)Management is multidimensional
            iv) Management is a continuous process
            v)Management is a group activity
            vi)Management is a dynamic function
            vii)Intangible
            viii) Composite process
            ix) balancing effectiveness and efficiency

Objective of the lesson

        There are three basic objectives of management:

            i)Organizational
            ii)Social
    `       iii)Personal/Individual

         management is important because

        i) Management helps in achieving group
        ii) Management improves efficiency
        iii) Management creates a dynamic organization
        iv) Management helps in achieving personal objective
        v) Management helps in development of society

1) What is meant by "Effectiveness in management"?

- Effectiveness in management is concered with doing the risk task, completing activities and achieving goals. In other words, it is concerned with the end result.

2)How does coordination ensure unity of action in management ?

_  Coordination acts  as the binding force between departments and ensures that all actions are aimed at achieving the goals of the of the organization.
